Amy is always so passionate in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) field. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist in California, New York, and Florida. Since 2007, Amy gained experience from being a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant after completing a bachelor degree at California State University Long Beach. During graduate studies, she worked full time at Nova Southeastern University, which specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). After obtaining her SLP license in 2012, she gained experience in other areas such as Early Intervention, Articulation/Phonological Disorders, Fluency (stuttering and cluttering), Receptive and Expressive language disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, and Apraxia of Speech.
Her professional goal is to be a well-rounded speech therapist. She received training in a variety of therapy techniques such as the PROMPT therapy and Oral Placement Therapy to help facilitating speech clarity. She has been treating feeding disorder using Sensory Motor Therapy Approach to Feeding. She also improves her skill by receiving training in a well known and evidence-based SOS Approach to Feeding as well as expanding her knowledge in the area of Oral Myofucntional Disorder. In addition, she is also fluent in Vietnamese and used to be a Vietnamese translator for a Communication Matrix project.
She enjoys working with all ages. She strongly believes in building teamwork with parents, caregivers, family members, and other related professionals to ensure client’s success. Her therapy approach is always individualized, interactive, functional, and meaningful.
